About the site
This website is here to serve two purposes: Sharing my art and sharing my thoughts.
First, about the name itself. My friend Sandra said to me when I came up with "The Ghosts of Giants" that she doesn't understand why people would name a website the way they do a band. The way I see it though, it's more like naming a book. This site, for me, is essentially an ever-evolving personal art (and to a lesser extent political) journal, so I felt like giving it an actual name.
That said, I probably won't be posting all of my art here. I'll only be posting the stuff that doesn't suck. If you want to see everything I produce, no matter how shitty, you should check out my DeviantArt gallery. There will likely be stuff that I post here that won't be on my DeviantArt as well. My sketchbook, for example, will be exclusive to this site.
As for my thoughts, I intend to use this site as a vehicle to rant about whatever political or social issue happens to be bothering me at any given time. I'm not trying to be a journalistic blogger. I'm just a guy who likes to rant. The main page, which is essentially the "blog" part of the site, will serve two purposes: Ranting and updates about the state of the website itself. I'm not gonna bore you with the inane details of my life here (except when they serve as excuses as to why I haven't updated this shit in months). That's what my DeviantArt journal is for.
Since this website is going to have a bit of political/social commentary, there are bound to be people (assuming I actually have people reading this shit) who will disagree with what I have to say. I'm not opposed to discussion and debate, but I ask that you keep a mature attitude about it. Political discourse in the United States has been eroding away to, in the words of Jon Stewart, "partisan hackery" over the past few years (just look at any political thread on Fark). Since I'm in Canada, I'm used to a little more decorum in political discussion, so please, just keep it civil.
About me
Just go check out my MySpace page.
I'm really far too lazy to put anything worth reading in here.
